The Book for Happy Hearts, by Maggie Hutchings; illustrated by Jess Racklyeft

Warning: I am going to rave about this book a little bit because it's just so beautiful, and I highly recommend you buy multiple copies to give as gifts to everyone you know!

I was lucky enough to win my copy in a giveaway and am completely in love with it.

This book simply sparkles with magic. It is filled with positive affirmations, stories, poems, creative and mindfulness activities, and craft ideas. Perfect for dipping in and out of, at bedtime, first thing in the morning, or whenever it's needed.

I love that this book inspires creativity in young readers with lots of fun ideas and suggestions - Mr 7 was inspired to draw a tree as suggested on page 13.

I also love that this book encourages us to notice the magic in our everyday surroundings - to slow down and observe the softness of a flower petal or a spider spinning its web.

There are also poems and stories for kids who might be feeling anxious, lonely or sad. Young readers dealing with feelings of loss or grief will be comforted by knowing that others have dealt with these feelings too, and that the sun will shine again.

This book celebrates diversity, family, friendship, kindness and creativity. The accompanying illustrations are so full of colour and charm - it's impossible not to feel immensely uplifted just looking at them.

The kids and I have flicked through this book again and again. The cover alone invites a tactile response (I'm always stroking book coves - and this one is beautiful!)

It is suitable for both boys and girls of any age. Put a copy under the Christmas tree or send a copy to a friend. It would make a beautifully heartfelt gift.

I warned you I would rant about this one!
